I can reproduce the problem on a Raspberry Pi 3B.
Interestingly enough, running i3 in xserver-xephyr on that machine makes it
display correctly, so the issue is not (just) a missing dependency.

this one. I see why it's useful.
I can see that current init scripts (well, for Xen 4.11) do create
/run/xen, as wel as /run/xenstored/:

I was a bit scared that we have a non-installable package inside Debian
and thought it would be a good idea to have python-seqcluster quickly.
I realised that some of the (Build-)Depends are only available for
