LaMont,
I find it amazing that this bug is still open (and a number of merges) it was
still effecting my etch box, however I am happy to report that this issue
appears to be resolved for lenny ;-) hence the fixed tag above.
To fix on my etch box I
Package: hpoj
Version: 0.91-13.2
Severity: serious
[Note to self as maintainer]
Prompting for user input by hand is now depreciated (policy 3.9.1).
Even though I didn't want to change my configuration during a
dist-upgrade from etch-lenny I was presented with:

(= 0.1.6-1), upload libkipi0_0.1.6-2 then
binNMU digikam, or
2. Bump soname - say libkipi0deb_0.1.6-2, process through NEW, then binNMU
digikam, kphotoalbum and gwenview.
Which option would you prefer for lenny?

The fix will require an soname bump and NEW package for libkipi
Why? If it's just a new symbol, bump the shlib and be done with it.
Thanks Marc,
That answers my question. Upload pending...

Thanks Julien,
That does make things work a lot nicer ;-)
I hope to have another KDE4 package uploaded in the next two weeks.

To
Release Team,
We have had a request from upstream not to distribute hplip 2.8.6 and upstream
have proposed 2.8.6b as an alternative.
I have had a look at the diff and there are some changes, but no change in
functionality.
I propose this is sufficient grounds for a freeze exception, but is
Olivier,
Thanks for the report!
There are some issues running with a non EN locale, which has been merged in
the BTS and forwarded upstream I will merge your report as well.
Interesting that in your report Sane is detected further down when reportbug
runs hpcheck.
