Dear Bill and others who helped,
I was thinking maybe it is something wrong due to /usr/local previous
libraries which I used on Sarge, mostly gphoto2 and some gnome
bluetooth, but there were some pango and I think one called libgmenu or
similar.
I tried with renaming /usr/local to /usr/local1
of the crash by installing the gaim-dbg
package and following the directions here:

I have purged gnome-menus and gnome-panel and bunch of related
applications from my system, by using aptitude purge. And I installed
them again and I don't get Applications menu in Gnome panel yet.
