Package: libnl3
Version: 3.0-2
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

wpasupplicant has been switched from libnl1 to libnl3 and I'd like to do
the same for network-manager. With the latest release of network-manager
0.9.2, it can be compiled using libnl3, but it requires a version >=3.2.
It would be great if you could update libnl3 to the latest upstream
release 3.2.3 [¹].

The upstream homepage has the following note:

The 3.2.0+ releases contain a change in versioning to allow for multiple
versions of libnl to be installed simultaneously. The basename of the
library has been renamed from libnl to libnl-3 and the headers will be
  installed in /usr/include/libnl3/netlink/.

And from a cursory glance, the soname was bumped/changed, e.g.:
libnl.so.3 → libnl-3.so.200
This means you'd probably need to coordinate that with the release team.

Cheers,
Michael
