Hi,

the kpatch package in Sid is at upstream version 0.6.0 (released on 22nd
of April 2018). Upstream is at version 0.9.2 from 15th of September
2020. Also this upstream version has been introduced in a
non-maintainer upload and the last maintainer upload was in 2016 with
upstream release 0.3.2.

Additionally the kernel module in Debian's rc-buggy kpatch-dkms package
(#983648, 28th of February 2021 with no maintainer reaction so far) has
been deprecated in favour of a vanilla kernel feature ("livepatch")
since the 0.9.0 upstream release from 14th of February 2020.

Cc'ing the MIA team due to these issues.

So updating to the most recent upstream release would solve #983648 even
twice: It works with newer kernels and the rc-buggy kpatch-dkms package
is probably no more needed anyways.

Ubuntu even already has packaged newer upstream releases and is now at
the 0.8.0 upstream release, so this upstream version probably already
works (or is patchable to make it work) with the 5.10 kernel which
caused #983648.
