i have to take back my previous bug report on mh-e.
mh-mml-secure-message-encrypt does work as expected. i discovered
that i've used it after emacs was called by nmh (comp). it will
not work this way. if i compose a mail within emacs with
URL: https://rt.cpan.org/Ticket/Display.html?id=62040
Here is a simple fix for this issue. I opted to keep the messages and
just omit the password.
