Thanks for reporting this! The next version of BALL will switch the
build system to CMake, so these kinds of bugs will hopefully just vanish.
In the meantime I will commit a workaround.

Thank you for noticing this! The problem is due to the newer sip
version, 2.9, which is not backwards compatible. We already have a fix
