I have a netdiag package from which I removed the postrm script. Here is a
result of trying to install the package after that change:

Package: ncftp

ncftp installs a file called /usr/man/ncftp.1. This should of course
be /usr/man/man1/ncftp.1, or it won't work.

tcsh should include a symlink of /bin/tcsh - ../usr/bin/tcsh. I
think the FSSTND specifies that all shells should have symlinks
present in /bin.

When you go through lots of dselect work editing the package selection
menu, then you're done (whew!) and you hit the big INSTALL button ...
before dselect goes ahead and installs stuff, it should give you a

Does anyone use a call-back facility? That is, does anyone phone his/her

Package: isp-ppp
Version: 2.2.0f-1
IMO this should have a `Conflicts: ppp' line in its control file so that ppp
is removed by dpkg. As it is right now some files of ppp remain and a
re-installation of ppp will overwrite some files of isp-ppp. And I take it
ppp doesn't have a `Replaces: isp-ppp'

There are bad magic numbers for Microsoft's applications in /etc/magic.
The strings that are used works OK for English version of MS Word 6 and
MS Excel 5, but when I run eg.

I run into a problem with dpkg (or what):
I used to have 'cron' and 'at' on my system, but I suddenly realized,
that they are gone. I admit, I could have deleted them in 'dselect'
by mistake. However, it should be possible to install them again.

I've been working on converting the gmp package to the new source format
and adding shared libraries to the package at the same time. Since version
tagging no longer takes place in debian/rules I have had to hard code the
