Hi Colin. I'm a bit unsure what problem this bug is about (and I hope you can still find it out even though it is somewhat old).
Is it about parsedep() not handling missing space between operator and version? This doesn't seem to be true, I can't reproduce that in woody, sarge or sid. Or is it about parsedep() not handling space in the operator? (e.g. "> =") Then I thinl it should be closed as wontfix since this probably shouldn't be supported.
