diffoscope of 4:5.23.0-2 and 4:5.23.0-3 it looks

Hello Achim,
I hope it is ok to try to merge those two bugs #996859 and #996860,
BTS takes some time to confirm creating a bug ...
Have you updated lately libkdecorations2-5v5 to 4:5.23.0-2 ?
Then you probably hit this bug #996726,

Joining my thanks to those of Marc.
Had the same problem and the workaround solves the problem.
Thanks

I'm sure this has been answered before, but this seems to be a perennial issue
wherever there's a major upgrade.

Thanks a lot Sami,
I thought it was nvidia driver problem as it was the "big" package on the
upgrade. But you are right, downgrading the libkdecorations2-5v5 allowed me
to access kde again!
After your indications I've found the bug 996726 which was exactly what was
happening to me.
Thanks for

my debian testing system.

credentials plasma desktop hangs on the splash screen.
Now I've installed cinnamon DE (a lot uglier btw) which
I mean the same problem is in Debian, testing, amd64.

I should have Kaddressbook, menu:
File: New, Import, Export, Print, Print Preview, Quit
I have Debian, unstable, arm64.
The same missing menu items are in Debian, testing, amd64.
