After upgrading to KDE 4.5, the Synaptics touchad on my Thinkpad T61 seemed
to be disabled right after logging in. I could not control the pointer with
the touchpad, but the buttons did work.

When konqueror blocks a pop-up it shows the pop-up blocker icon in the
status bar. If I click the icon and choose to bring up the pop-up
blocker configuration, it instead brings up the Java/JavaScript
