i purged my old installation
apt-get --purge remove 'openoffice.*'
and installed it like
apt-get install openoffice.org
i do not prelink (because i think this crashes my libc6)
after that, i started it like in den README mentioned
rm ~/.sversionrc ; rm -r ~/.openoffice ; openoffice
and got a crash like:

The problem solved, after i reinstalled many of my libs here, like the libc6
and installed a new kernel 2.6.5. It looks like the 2.6.3-rc2 had some file
corruption on my system.
