Trouble getting mac mini builtin modem to work

Hi everybody! I am trying to get the built-in modem of my mac mini to work (if only for nostalgic purposes :), but no luck so far... This is what linux sees: Linux venus 2.6.15.6 #1 PREEMPT Tue Mar 7 21:37:17 CET 2006 ppc GNU/Linux ttyS0 at MMIO 0x80013020 (irq = 22) is a Z85c30 ESCC - Serial p

xserver, having hard time getting configured

Ok, I did the install on the Xserve today. All worked fine, until I tried to boot the Xserve into Linux. The partitions and file systems are all set up, and look ok, both from Linux as well as from MacOS. So I don't think the firewire hd driver messed up. So I still think it's the problem, that

Both messages contain suspicious attachments, though I presume gmail did not recognize them as known worms. One originated from 59.

I did apt-get upgrade yesterday. Now X kills my powerbook stone dead every time I run it. All I see is a flashing cursor in the top left for a couple of seconds and then the box turns off. xorg.conf is untouched, so I don't know what the cause would be. I've tried trapping output and errors fro
