Package: snownews
Version: 1.5.6.1-2
Severity: wishlist

Default charset for Snownews is ISO-8859-1 but maintainer for this
package build the package in UTF-8.

The problem is that console doesn't support well UTF-8, it's ok with
xterm in graphic mode, but not in real console. Try it and watch all
special characters (like "é", "ç" etc.).

You would admit it's a strange thing for a text program to not be well
displayed in console mode :o).

Here is an explanation about UTF-8 support:

        UTF-8 on Linux
        http://www.jw-stumpel.nl/stestu.html#T4.7

I would suggest to do two packages:

        * "snownews" built with default charset
        * "snownews-utf8" built in UTF-8

Hope you will understand me :o). For now i recompile every release...
it's a bit anoying!
