Package: kmail
Version: 4:4.4.11.1+l10n-3+b1
Severity: minor

Dear Maintainer,
*** Please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

   * What led up to the situation?

   Open kmail --> Settings -> Configure KMail...
   Window "Configure - KMail" opened;
   on the left list choose "Accounts";
   tab "Receiving" lists one incoming account;
   the one incoming account is highlighted;
   activate button "Modify...";
   window "Modify Account - KMail" opened;
   activate tab "POP Settings";
   have set these settings:
   activate: Leave fetched messages on the server
   de-activate: Leave messages on the server for
   acivate: Keep only the last; edit: 155 messages
   de-activate: Keep only the last; [MB]
   de-activate: Filter messages if they are greater than
   de-activate: Use pipelinig for faster mail download
   Destination folder: inbox
   Pre-command: <keep empty>

   Click on button OK.

   Window "Configure - KMail": Click on button OK.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

   Click on Action "Check Mail".

   * What was the outcome of this action?

   The very first time, when I did so, right after having installed kmail,
   kmail left the 155 oldest (instead of 155 most recent) on the mail
   server.

   Trying to verify this behaviour, one week later, now, kmail keeps the
   most recent mails on the mail server which is correct end expected.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

   The very first time configuring kmail, after having installed kmail,
   to keep the 155 latest (most recent) mails on the mail server, the 155
   most recent mails should have been left on the mail server; even in the
   case when there are many mails received within the last year, 2014, in
   the inbox of the mail server.

   Keep in mind, that I was unable to reproduce the observed behaviour
   described above. Possibly, for reproducing, it is necessary to uninstall
   kmail from the system, and install/configure kmail, again. Keep also in
   mind, that I use kmail within gnome (not KDE). Kmail seems to be mainly
   designed for working well within KDE.
