Hi.Try this if you wish to remove exim:
I tried to uninstall exim, which led me to a question... why does KDE depend on KMail? Isnt KDE a Desktop Environment and KMail a mail client/service?

apt-get install equivs, debhelper and fakeroot copy /usr/share/doc/equivs/examples/mail-transport-agent.ctl to /var/tmp cd /var/tmp equivs-build mail-transport-agent.ctl dpkg --purge --force-depends exim; dpkg -i mta-local*.deb
