X and Netscape key problem

I am having problems with the delete key. I can use an xmodmap to map keycode 22 to 0xff08. Although xterm and emacs cope with this, Netscape does not. Thus I can delete correctly in both xterm and emacs. Has anyone any idea what might be causing this? Is this a known X problem? In

I think I have hit a bug in dpkg. I try to install an older version of xlib6g but I get a failure because xlib6g depends on libxaw6. However, I think only the new version of xlib6g (4.0.2) depends on libxaw6. The old version (3.3.6 from potato) does not depend on libxaw6. (Please can someone with

Delete the old verson of base.pm that is installed somewhere in the directories listed at the end of perl -V, but is not part of a debian package. It would also help if you can figure out where that copy of base.pm came from -- did you locally install it by accident, via CPAN, or something?

I have a Blaster 16 PCI card. The rec command does not seem to be working - could it be that playing works but recording does not? I use the play command to play back the file but all I get is some clicking noises. Does this seem like a familiar problem? I have a 2.2.17 kernel. Regards Tim

Michael Merten It has no amplified output for speakers, which is what your black jack is (i believe). I use the green jack with a pair of cheapo amplified speakers Thanks for that. I located the documentation for Blaster 16 PCI and it seems that the green line out is what I need.

Okay - I have solved the xdm problem. I needed to link PS/2 mouse support into the kernel. I found this out by looking at the output of xdm. I have now configured ipchains as I want including running it automatically on reboot. Thanks for the help.

Sometimes when I dial into my ISP, there seems to be a problem getting fully connected. Is this a known pppd bug? The symptom is that the dialup seems to be working but one part of the process just hangs. Any ideas on this?
