Sinceramente naum sei, eu uso o Debian-BR-CDD em dual boot com windows
2003 no trabalho e em casa, o sarge em dual boot com SBS, todas usando
grub e num dah galho nium.
Talvez algo relacionado com seu esquema de particionamento, enfim num sei, soh to chutando alguma coisa. :\

I think that yaboot is able to do that without any problems, but I may
be wrong here. OTOH, you can always drop into OpenFirmware and boot from

think you need to uncheck a setting that says optimise my defrag. if
that settign is checked, windoze will forcefully keep a few files near
the end of the drive and fips will keep complaining.

hd1 is DVD-RW

Après moultes tentatives j'ai enfin réussi à basculer ma testing en
dual boot (avec Win2000 sous vfat) sous (ata) raid 1.

All other kinds of linux distro are not using mbr

Tenho uma máquina que está utilizando dual boot
(Debian e windows XP), quando escolho o SO Debian
normal, mas o Windows Xp não abre de maneira alguma e
como não identificasse o tipo de sistema de
arquivos...
Como ocorrer com este problema.. Tenho que fazer
alterar alguma coisa no grub??

i think you can install only one grub to boot the two system with
editing menu.lst.
Do you mean that when i install Debian, I can skip the boot loader
installation ?
skip it or install on the /boot partition of the debian ( root partition
instead if you leave a single partition to debian )

ps: two grub is ok.
The boot loader on Gentoo is installed on MBR. So if i want
that was installed with Woody.

But, I get a message saying, among other stuff, that I need to configure
my boot loader to use initrd. It also gives instructions on how to do
this for LILO. BUT, this is a dual-boot

The strange one about this is that to restore the mbr in xp you are
supposed to boot from the xp intallation cd, select recovery console and
then run fix mbr and fix boot (might be fixmbr and fixboot, with no
spaces) I wonder what fdisk /mbr did?
Is partion 1 Fat32 or ntfs?
