On one of my debian testing machines, the /etc/pam.d/passwd is missing:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ls -1 /etc/pam.d/
apache2
...
common-account
common-auth
common-password
common-session
...
other
ppp

...
xscreensaver
The passwd package is installed:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] dpkg -l passwd |

But even after I do aptitude reinstall passwd, nothing changes...

Maybe that file is supplied by one of the libpam*
