I've used both of these and have no complaints. courier-pop is only useful if
you're going to use Maildir storage, if you're using POP only then there
isn't a great deal

I have used this and found it to be very, very easy to setup and use.
I moved to an IMAP server fairly soon afterwards, so I cannot comment on how
it performs over time.

I'm in the process of setting up a Debian mail server on a LAN
from which eight local users and one or two remote users can
collect their email. I don't believe I need the additional
functionality of an IMAP server, so I'm looking specifically at
POP daemons.
