I'm having some weird issues with Helix (a Sid / Knoppix based
distribution). For whatever reason, I periodically get an input/output
error while a disk is mounted, and the only way to fix it is to umount and
then mount again via ntfs-3g.

I installed helix-player in my box, but when I want to play an mp3 file
it complains that RealPlayer is not present.
Ok, I downloaded RealPlayer and ran RealPLayer10Gold.bin in /home/user1/
and now /home/user1/RealPLayer/realplay runs fine, but when I run
helix-player it deosn't find

first, real player == helix player + real branding + two non-free
plugins (for mp3 and real media)
second, you *either* install helix player *or* real player, but not
both. and the one does not need the other anyway.

automatiquement (rubrique téléchargement dans preference) et ajouter
ton logiciel préféré...

entsprechende Plugin, Mozilla auch, nur leider Firefox nicht;-((

I had the same problem trying to get the helix installer to run on woody.
Since woody uses an older version of GCC you need to download the legacy
version of the installer:
legacy-hxplay-0.4.0.187-linux-2.2-libc6-i386.bin. The same

i think apt has a --force-downgrade.

dpkg --purge gnome-control-center gnome-panel
then do the rest of the ximian/helix purging as described earlier.
also make sure your sources.list do NOT contain ximian or helix
sources and run apt-get update.

helix to ximian?
Change helixgnome.com to ximian.com in your apt sources list and it
should work.

I have not been able to get sound support working under Helix Gnome
for several weeks now.
esdplay works fine, but no Gnome programs work (xmms and Gnome Control
Centre for instance).
(xmms works if I kill esd first).
Any ideas?

de apt que hace poco comentaba Jaime Villate que ya estaba disponible.
