Try running gpmconfig as root. It will create the appropriate configuration. But before you do that, make a symlink for /dev/mouse: ln -s /dev/ttyS0 /dev/mouse [assuming the mouse is on ttys0] Tell gpm to use /dev/mouse, and then tell XF86Setup to use /dev/mouse. WHile it workes with the

I found the problem, but I don't know how to fix it. The problem is that fvwm95 doesn't worked after upgrading it. It used to be called fvwm95, but now is fvwm95-2. fvwm, afterstep, and twm worked fine. Is it something wrong with the latest version? I just won't run, I only get a default X

If you install xbase at this point, with the xserver in place, it should tell you, via dependancies all that you need for a base install. Just hit enter and let it do it's thing. Then run xf86config, and it should work. Then you can start wondering about contrib and window managers. Get the

You just need to select one of the Xservers which are for different video cards. vga16 is for standard vga and is the default since it works on all cards. If you have an S3 card you would select the S3 Xserver instead. Other than that the dependancies should mark the other needed packages. You
