Try running gpmconfig as root. It will create the appropriate configuration.
But before you do that, make a symlink for /dev/mouse:

As there are several bugs in the 3.2 package (some of which you have already
dealt
with) I would recommend you try the 3.3-3 packages found in bo-updates. I am
using
olvwm with the 3.3-3 svga server with no problems.

Yes there is a specific order.
here is mine not
You just need to select one of the Xservers which are for different video
cards. vga16 is for standard vga and is the default since it works on all
cards. If you have an S3 card you would select the S3 Xserver instead.
