I was installing a few programs on my system (hamm) and now that I
have tried them out I don't really want them I tried to rm them off of
the system rm -rd directory but it will not remove them. I tried as a
normal user, as su, and as root. I get an do you wish to remove

I installed the Andrew word processor on my linux box last night and
I followed the INSTALL instructions that said if I was not installing
into /usr/local/andrew I would need to define the
LD_LIBRARY_PATH. I did this in my .bash_profile and it works if I
run Andrew first after I log in

I have a Debian 2.0 system with KDE 1.0 installed my video card
uses the clgd5428 chipset so I am stuck with running the system in
8-bit color mode for the time being. The question i have is that it
seems that when I am using Netscape (4.5b2) for web browsing the
images that it displays do

on memory right now- 16MB could that be the problem?? I know that my

I recently ran dselect for the first time and it found that xbase was
not fully configured on my system. Funny that I have been running
X with no problem. Anyway it asked if I wanted to use xdm and i
foolishly said yes even though I already was using kdm. The result

Could you just install the RedHat package using alien??? I would
think that that would work. I am a newbie though and so could be
wrong.

I have a Debian (2.0.34) machine set up at home that will be used
for Internet browsing and word processing. I have installed KDE
(very nice) and am working on Netscape. I now would like to install
a word processor that is preferably (gui) and free. I have looked at
KOffice, WordPerfect,

so Debian does not see it either. Is there a way for me to configure
the system so that the modem will be available to me? I can probably

that there is anything in COM2. The
modem is internal and not a WinModem. The /dev/ttyS0 is the only
COM port that the kernel sees on boot-up. ANy hints out there??
