dmesg shows 7MB stolen ram change this in the bios under video settings to at least 32MB Max allowed shared/stolen ram is best But I think that 7M is not enough anyway, changing video ram is easy enough to test. Unfortunately, there isn't such option in the BIOS (HP dc7700p).
