Yesterday an *nix admin asked me what Email-client I use.
My answer:
MS Outlook 2003 latest SP and Updates. Why?
His answer:
Our local Spamassassin has catched my previous message as spam.

I feel bad now that was listed in the fine print of the manual.
A quick copy and paste in Excel and I have descriptions.

The rule in SA that punishes messages sent by IMail is very
old, but apparently still there.
So beside the fact that they keep for a long time a rule apparantly creating
false positives SA does also false positive on plain text messages and
doesn't know about the newest MS Outlook Clients. No
I asked this yesterday right before the Hotmail issue came to light...so
I'll ask again to see if there are any thoughts:
Setting up a 'bad users/stalker' filter (BOUNCEONLYIFYOUMUST) in Declude

I've had to put edu.au in the SpamCop SURBL exclusion list.
It looks like edu.au is listed on the list.

That's the issue...the fact/problem is Declude or Imail is the one who
wrote that command to Yahoo's server that way. According to specs, we
do not put around emails in bounce messages.
I have a bunch of devices that e-mail me reports and the like. They
don't generate proper headers, helos etc. I want to WHITELIST the IPs.
What I really want to do is WHITELIST these IP addresses for my domain

I have the command for the GLOBAL.CFG file
WHITELIST IP 1.2.3.4

Wouldn't a difference in the number of recipients in the ALLRECIPS and
REALRECIPS variables be a rather good spam indicator, as this means that
the recipient list is a mixture of both valid and invalid addresses? I

That isn't currently possible.
Per-user/per-domain whitelisting is available for the return address, but
there isn't yet a way to have IP whitelisting on a per-user/per-domain basis.
Can you whitelist IP addresses via a file in global.cfg or only inline?

You can currently only whitelist IPs in the global.cfg file (WHITELIST IP
192.0.2.25).

I sent a couple of emails tonight to others at my domain. These messages

Dave,
Since moving to testing on multiple hops, I have found that the expire
of records in many of the open relay/spam trap lists has something to be
desired (as far as my purposes go). They seem to operate with the
impression that people only use these lists on the last hop, however
