Personally I advocate making it as easy as possible to correct the
central database as opposed to every user having a separate cache. The
difficulty with a cache is that if the database has been changed by
someone in the interim then the user doesn't get the benefit of the
changes. At the moment
I've also found the Samsung ML-1610 to work with ML-1710 (gdi
recommended) driver for text and graphics.
With either one, however, I've also seen flaky behavior occasionally, at
least under Breezy. Didn't upgrade to Dapper on this system until
yesterday.

To reply to the upstream comment, directory is not a special type. Setting a
default mimetype doesn't require playing with a different type, that's
basically how apps for a mimetype work:
- the .desktop lists the mimetype to MimeType=
- update-desktop-database makes a list Mimetype:list of apps

I've read through the comments and I don't quite understand: is the
current gaim in the repos supposed to remember the position of the buddy
list or not? Because it doesn't for me.

It is true that (in gedit as well), the cropping of the close icon on
the tabs is not a new problem. (I just looked at the old gnome cross in
gedit: it is indeed cropped the same way.)
But the new icon really exposes this old bug in a bad way. With the old
cross, you need picky eyes to care about

I think that bug comes from the fact that it is GDM that manages halt and
reboot (because only root can do that). To do that, it uses a socket file which
is /tmp/.gdm_socket. On the other side, gnome-panels sends request through that

On the laptop in the logout dialog are standby and suspend to disk
buttons.
They are translated into german at the moment like this:
1) standby: In den Ruhezustand versetzen
2) suspend to disk: Ruhezustand
Germans will have difficulties to
well, i rebooted and now it works. so i'll close the bug. also before
the reboot, when i clicked on an openoffice document, nautilus refused
to start openoffice. starting openoffice itself from
applications-office worked fine.

As per the original implementation of numlock saving, I have discovered
that the numlock state is not remembered if the machine's hostname is
'localhost' (http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=74215#c38).
I'm changing the bug title to reflect this; either there should be a
note on the gconf
ca0106 is already dmixed by default in Dapper. See
/usr/share/alsa/cards/CA0106.conf .

after i installed eyecandy on ubuntu dapper candidate realise 6.06 and then
trying to change my theme gnome-theme will crash after clicking on the theme.
this bug only has dome it to me on gnome-themes after installing compiz
(eyecandy).

Epiphany goes to IP address of local sites
Kino is not able to use video1394, and usage of video1394 for DV is
deprecated. The best solution at the moment is to create a new group for
raw1394.
