i observe that nautilus uses 99% of cpu when i open a directory that contains
many folders or files (e.g. /share/bin).
i have files with thumbnails on the machine, but not in the directory i open.
i know that this bug has been reported before,

I was testing out an error case in Flumotion when totem crashed. I
really have no idea what the exact error was; I think the server
accepted the HTTP request, passed the file descriptor on to something
else, which probably dropped the connection.

it uses not exactly 99% (it can be 86 or so... equally bad)
i use list mode for / (but the windows are 'objects')
i tried /dev (690 items) - it takes more than 1.5 minutes and was not
finished. i killed it (system monitor window) and cpu goes down.

I'd recommend to file the bug at http://bugs.gnome.org - it's hard to
track down bugs in software we don't ship at the moment. Thanks for the

glChess crashes on player switch
No, my file of bash specific start up commands is in /etc/bash.bashrc
which is sourced from /etc/profile
You cannot put the hash bang at the top of a sourced file.
I do not think I am alone in having bash specific stuff in these files
which is why there are a few other cases of people

Filename not quoted when calling cdrecord
Setting to wishlist status. I agree with Daniel that it probably needs a
spec. The solution will be part technical but we also need real-world
discussions with the vendors of these voices to allow us to package
them, even if it is in the commercial repositories.
