I'm not totally convinced. Yes, Xorg shouldn't freeze in general, but
the shutdown dialog does (and is supposed to) take control over the
entire display. If that freezes somehow but doesn't crash, Xorg really
has no way of knowing.

This is a pretty serious bug because you can't drag the bar back down
with your mouse, you have to recheck the expand option. Isn't that
really confusing for new users?

time displays incorrectly in gnome panal
I had the same problem while i installed xpenguins applet with synaptic
on edgy then when i added the applet to the panel, gnome panel freezed
and became unusable restarting gdm and restarting the computer did not
solve the problem and at last i fixed it by uninstalling the xpenguins
applet using

I can't reproduce that message, maybe because that module is already
loaded somewhere when I start alacarte again? Anyway, this is what I get

Arash, that seems to be a different issue. Does gnome-panel still crash
