I don't know whether this helps, but it seems to be a problem with the 7.10
remote login.
I set up 2 machines, 1 Feisty, and one Gutsy. The fiesty machine can login to
Gutsy and Feisty systems, but the Gutsy machine cannot connect to any remote
systems with XDMCP.
This happens with Ubuntu and
I can confirm this is happening on gutsy - the panel freezes after
clicking Quit. Furthermore, it does not ever return to normal state as
described earlier in this bug. I have to press ctrl+alt+backspace to
restart X or go to console and shut down the machine manually.

nothing changes.
Related: The compiz fusion icon is a blank box, so it is not showing up

I had the same issue and the value 0.5 do not work to me. The Print
Setup dialogue mentions that these values are in mm. i.e. 0.5 mm from
the top is very, very small. After I changed the values to 5.0 for both
the header and footer are back again. Is there an issue between
measurements (US vs
Hmm, for some reason they're working again... I didn't really do anything or
download any updates, so I'm not sure why... but yeah, they started working...

takes about 30-40 seconds to login. This was not the case in Feisty.
Starting the very first application is also significantly slower than

I have the same problem on Gutsy (final). I have dual screen (twinview,
not xinerama). As soon as I switch back from another user, the screens
go blank (light gray). I can usually still switch back to the previous
user successfully, or I can switch to a console, or I can use CTRL + ALT
+ Backspace
Actually I have no Exchange servers and company emails, but I honor
Evolution for it's integration with Gnome and wide schedule
capabilities. Thunderbird doesn't possess that. Running Windows XP
inside a virtual machine sounds silly to me - it's just like to give up,
abandon Linux itself and go

Yes, my gusty machine cannont connect to the feisty machine and from another
machines with Feisty or Cygwin installed I can connect to them. But it works
about two or three weeks ago during the beta test. After an update it loose
it's funktionality and I do not know why.
Gutsy as a XDMCP-
There's now a proposed patch for this problem. (Milan Crha 18/10).
Any chance of testing this and getting it adopted quickly if it works?
This is exactly the kind of bug that is confusing and disturbing to
'average users' but too easy for geeks to say Just edit the html tag
out in the address
The solution is simple (and it works with ALL distros).
If you have compiz enabled (aka desktop effects), launch gconf-editor - apps
- compiz - screen0 - options - set hsize from 2 to 4. That's all! No reboot
is necessary.

Force-downgrading gdm to the version as at gutsy beta (2.20.0-0ubuntu2)
fixes the remote end for me - I can connect to it with other systems;
but it does not fix the client end (I still can't use XDMCP to connect

I dont' reprocuce this bug on gutsy. I am able to gedit a ftp file and to play
a ogg file over ftp with totem.
Ftp over gnomevfs seems to support seek.

into Appearance Preferences - Theme, the Custom is highlighted, but

hurt. Just a wild shot in the dark, but might it be a hyperthreading-

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I'm using gutsy.
I deleted the /home/username/file: directory and everything is fine
now. I don't know what created that file: directory, I didn't.
Then I recreated the /home/username/file:/home directory and clicking
on Places-home drives me back to
Nobody accused of it either!
It is only an annoyance, but one that will occur for anyone using the
eBay notification email service, which is probably a very common case.
I think my point was meant to be that it will affect many users, not all
of whom will consider it to be trivial to work around.

You can change compiz's workspace with a rotation of mouse-wheel action

On the other hand if I change it via mouse (up/down arrows) the change
is remembered.
I have made videos of the szenario but since I reckon there are people
getting those attachments via slow email connections is there a way to
add this info without them being send by email?
right, that's a really annoyance in some case and we will consider it
but that's not the highest priority for a stable update and we will wait
to get upstream feedback on the change

The xchat-gnome desktop uses Icon=xchat-gnome and xchat-gnome-common
ships an /usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/apps/xchat-gnome.png, all the
themes should fallback to hicolor and that works fine on my gutsy
installation using the Human theme, to debug by somebody getting the
issue

entry should be added. Where did you have the
/home/username/file:/home directory listed?

I've just installed Gutsy with Gimp 2.4.0 RC3 and can confirm this is
still happening. Selecting the option to create a new image offers a
fixed image size of 420x300 pixels rather than it being sized to the
last item copied to the clipboard. A workaround if copying with Gimp
(from an open image
