I read about this bug in many korean blogs about Ubuntu. And it seems

I tried out this workaround and it works for me (with Gutsy). I only
added '--sm-disable' to the Evolution Alarm Notify command under the
Startup Programs tab of the Sessions preferences. Now I get calendar
alarm notifications for both local and exchange calendar events.

Maximize window vertically makes the window too large
It's obvious for me that it's only workaround and only for home users
for which simplicity is key feature. So you have temporary solution and
choice to do it or not.
I personally have done it on my wife's notebook since it's simple
environment used by her only a home, without any sensitive data.

Sure. Screenshot-1.png shows the default size on a display with resolution
1280x1024. The dialog remembers its size, so if someone wants to test it, make
sure the gconf keys /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/preview/* are reset.
