I guess it is a pulseaudio problem. Just close Rhythmbox, run in Terminal the
command killall pulseaudio and start Rhythmbox again. If pulseaudio is the
reason it is probably fixed with the new Kernel in proposed.

Xorg use has dropped from 60-70% to just 10-20% CPU (tested just before
and after the update). Graph animation is now very smooth (and the lines

when running the Resource monitor after the update I noticed that when
the window is small the CPUs are running on almost 20% ( which is still
higher than anticipated ). but when I maximize the window the CPUs start

I am experiencing the same problem with Hardy! Without the 'splash'
kernel option everything is all right, suspend/resume works fine. With
the kernel option 'splash' or with the option 'vga=771' the machine (hp
nx8220) suspends, but is unable to resume. I only get a blank screen.

seems to be a relative improvement of around 33% to me.
So even at 2.22.1-0ubuntu2 gnome-system-monitor is causing Xorg to use

For me it has crashed every time I do a sync. First after 2-3 minutes I
get an error about problem with communication to pgp.mit.edu 11371.
After that it crashes and I see this in my syslog:

Pulseaudio is blocking normal sound after resume
The problem is still there. There hasn't been any activity in it
recently because nobody asked for more information (and IMHO more
information isn't really necessary, since anybody can reproduce the
bug). The bug description is complete, and the bug can be easily
reproduced by any developer
Confirming that this still happens on Hardy 86 as well.

This indeed a lack of an incredibly basic and, I imagine, most useful
feature. I have seen other apps miss this point too, though. In light of
this, wouldn't a panel app for changing the current (or default)
language for GtkSpell be a neat idea?
