I have fixed the problem for my dell inspiron 9300 with the following
script syncing the volumes of the master channel with those of the
subwoofer and the headphones. I have added the script to the startup

More investigations show that in my case (not behind proxy) the problem
is that my ISP DNSes bar IWS servers, i.e DNS lookups fail for some
reason. Switching e.g to Googles public DNSes makes it work again. Thus,
this is my workaround until my ISP fixes this issue.

I might have found a reliable workaround: Delaying the loading of the

I've been running this for two days now (and have restarted over 20
times in addition for testing) and I haven't seen the problem any more.
Granted, this bug is really a pisser-offer that I can see hiding

I am using 0.6.1.5 from the Ubuntu 10.04, and I do not see any importing
of AVI files; using version 0.4.3.1 in Ubuntu 8.04, the f-spot would see
the .AVI files and offer to copy them, and then copy them into the
correctly dated folders, although it would not show them in the
thumbnail display.

Note that this is important enough that it will need to be included in
the liveCD of Ubuntu 10.04, Lucid Lynx when it gets updated. Otherwise

.smi files are not played correctly
I've recently encountered a problem of sending files via Gmail to Gmail
accounts.
I'm using Empathy 2.30.2-1~ppa10.04+1
Recipient is using Pidgin on Ubuntu 10.04
From my side the file transfer shows 100% complete, however recipient is
only obtaining 98-99% of files before been told the sender me
