started trying to scan the entirety of the afs network. This
will obviously not work and baobab needs to ignore afs mounts.

We must fix this somehow, but to get access to a frozen home folder:

By the looks of the bug reports on Debian, it seems that this is caused
by an over-eager compiler optimization (which probably explains why the
amd64 works whilst the i386 doesn't). It ought to be possible to bypass
this optimization for the one section of the code so I would expect a
pretty quick

I'm sure that we all agree with that... *If* the problem is that the compiler
is optimizing incorrectly for the i386 code, however, disabling the
optimization locally to that routine is surely a fair enough solution pending a
@nomike: Many people can reproduce this bug, while many other (incl. me)
cannot. You mention that the bug only occurs when the window is given
focus, not when it already has it.

When I set a keyboard shortcut in Keyboard shortcuts preferences (or as
a compiz command with shortcut), and then try to launch it using this
shortcut, windows pops up for a fraction of second, then disappears. I'm
not sure how to debug

Sorry, this machine has been upgraded to Maverick (and I don't put too
many hours on it so doubt seriously I can get a repro). If I get another
repro I'll try and get a proper backtrace. but I'm usually upgrading
every couple of days. I've marked invalid.
