I just had this problem. Coming from 12.04 to 14.04 my executable that
was launching WebStorm just started opening in GEdit.
It felt like a bug, not a Feature.
This is why I went back to Windows. Someone decided to make an arbitrary

The mentioned terminals do support bracketed paste mode - but do it
incorrectly. If they didn't support it all, you wouldn't see the bug.
The *real* problem here is Terminator using a 3 year old unmaintained
version of vte (bug 1030562). The bracketed paste issue is just a
manifestation of this
I'm happy to report that the trashcan was actually working correctly for
me!
Turns out a network drive had bad permissions for its .Trash/ folder,
not Ubuntu's fault.

patch is a very simple one and it fixes a really annoying bug that
occurs very frequently for anyone using midnight commander (and whatever

I tried to reproduce the wakeups with the location service being idle - no
wakeups

Gnome-terminal (actually vte) has fixed this issue and this fix will
appear in Utopic. If Terminator finally updated their code to Gtk3
(which apparently nobody is working on), it would also automatically get
the fix.

On Utopic 166, the location indicator checkboxes un-check themselves
again after a minute or two. I can't get location functions to work at
all.

I have two installations of 14.04 Desktop. One done as a fresh install, which
is now with kernell 3.13.0-32-generic and has no problem to show network
activiy. The other was installed as an upgrade from 12.04, it has now the same
3.13.0-32-generic kernell, and shows no activity at all, though I

rhythmbox crashed with SIGSEGV in
I have just started to have this problem, at least i think it is this problem
but mine hangs on the splash screen. It happens everytime i shut down. If i hit
F1 early in the shutdown process i get a recurring message like this
