The issue is reproducible for me in two different manners:
First way:
1. Install gnome-tweaks and download a custom icon theme, for example:
[la-capitaine-icon-theme](https://github.com/keeferrourke/la-capitaine-icon-theme)
2. Move this icon theme to ~/.icons
3. Open gnome-tweaks and in
Not sure this was actually a bug. I reinstalled my system anyway so the
issue went away. Now marked as invalid

Tested mutter 42.2-0ubuntu1 on Ubuntu Budgie 22.04. Installed it, logged
out/in. Worked a while as usual, opening, moving resizing windows,
switching workspaces etc. All works fine.

All the 4k eDP laptops will have this issue, I tried on HP ZBook (which
includes nv card) and switch to wayland. Plug external 4k monitor can

Public bug reported:
Monitor numbers (displayed in the top left corner of each screen while
in the Screen Display settings) are almost invisible in an Ubuntu/Yaru
session. But they are big and bold in a GNOME (Adwaita) session. Both
using Wayland.
It looks like you need to have two monitors
I've just finished testing 2x4K on i7-9750H with jammy and it works
perfectly. All default settings with DING enabled. I tested both HDMI
and USB-C.
So something about this bug seems to be hardware-specific as you keep
mentioning. It would be really annoying if an OLED XPS was the minimum
I have also noticed the behavior mentioned in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-shell/+bug/1969574/comments/12.
It fails approx 50% of the time for me, which is an improvement from
before, but still not ideal.
Note that Alt-Tab does not seem to be affected, just selecting via the
workspace.
