Upgrade to 17 doesn't work, gnome-terminal doesn't work

I'm running Ubuntu 17.04. I changed to Gnome classic in the login
screen, then logged in, logged out and chose regular Gnome, but I keep
logging in Gnome classic every time. A workaround is to run "gnome-shell
--mode=user -r" after every login.

empty next to the question What kind of chat account do you have?.

Can't add any account

I was able to login through gdm once. Then I've updated the packages
using synaptic and after that the error appeared.

That's happening to me after clean install of dapper. Nothing useful in
the logs but the .xsession-errors.
On the last line it was written Executing default instead of
Executing /usr/bin/gnome-session
