After a recent update of Oneiric, my laptop enters sleep mode even when
connected to AC (this setting is not checked and even greyed out in the
power settings dialog.
The acpi command clearly shows that AC online/offline is detected

It was not installed, after installing dconf, the settings came back!
So it seems to be a packaging/dependency bug (this was a clean Maverick daily

I'm having trouble reproducing the crash, though I now only get black screens
for video feeds over empathy instead of crashes.
This new problem is also not consitent, so video will work about 50% of the
time.

This isn't a GUI problem as GDM used to, and should, follow the locale
setting for time and that is 24 hour in my case (as stated before).
It follows neither, so it displays 08:00 instead of 20:00 but ommits
AM/PM suffixes.

but a bug with gnome-volume-manager prevents it.

USB devices are detected for a local (non-ldap user) though, so it is

I mean the the current icon is intrusive, while the suggested one just
blends nicely into the panel.
The creator of the new icon posted this originally on the ubuntuforums
where I recommended him to file a bugreport to get it included.

For each machine, there's an admin group in ldap which I put in sudoers
instead of the admin group.
This way, I can give LDAP users admin access to certain boxes.
