volume silder interacts weirdly with pulse per app volume control

when I click on rhythmbox's volume slider button, the volume always
reset to 0. If I then drag the slider, a very small movement causes
pulseaudio's per-app volume slider for rhythmbox to jump up, shocking me
with very loud music.

I've done what Kim did, except after a hibernate and resume (while
evolution was running) it happens again. The imap server is on localhost
(which was dovecot, and so that too was hibernated and resumed too). I
really don't want to move away stuff again because that would make
evolution to refetch
According to reinouts on #tracker and http://mail.gnome.org/archives
/tracker-list/2009-March/msg00078.html this is fixed in 0.6.92. Relevant

I have this problem with intrepid (well, the line number is different).
Burning an audio CD with serpentine works fine though. Can someone
reopen this, or should I file a new bug?

Evolution exchange is so crashy that I haven't been paying close
attention as to when/how/why it crashes, I just restart it. Typically I
get a crash everyday.
