I have the same issue but gdm works just fine for me (clean install).
gnome-keyring-daemon uses almost 100% cpu for about 10 seconds before
stopping. It never used to do this.

I also have this issue:
I have 3 screens, 2 on one card and one on the other using the nvdia
driver.
As soon as i log in, starting file manager appear in the panel and
appears and disappears repeatedly for which seems an endless cycle. The
CPU shows almost 100% usage.

I have just encountered the same bug. The crashed application dialog
appeared upon logging into my amd64 Lucid Lynx machine, running with 2
graphics cards and three screens.
