Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gedit As a new user evaluating Ubuntu, I somehow got gedit into OVR (overwrite) mode, instead of the default INS (insert) mode. Then, I was stuck; there is no readily apparent way to escape from OVR mode. 1.) I searched all menus for a command. 2.)
