[Bug 660490] Re: Shotwell: Change picture size?

2013-05-25 Thread Matt Hanyok
Any chance this is actually going to get added? I think with shotwell being the default image editing application in Ubuntu there should be a user friendly method of resizing - as simple as edit, resize, enter percentage or pixel value. I realize you can go through the save as menu but that's not

[Bug 879525] Re: Rhythmbox CD ripping to FLAC broken in Oneiric

2011-11-10 Thread Matt Hanyok
The steps to duplicate the problem are: 1) Install Rhythmbox from the software center 2) Open Rhythmbox 3) Go to edit/preferences and select the music tab 4) Notice the drop down box for the preferred format appears to be missing FLAC 5) Select this empty space and try to rip a CD 6) Get error

[Bug 888847] [NEW] rhythmbox can't find ID3 tag muxer for MP3 support

2011-11-10 Thread Matt Hanyok
Public bug reported: When using Rhythmbox and changing the preferred file format to MP3, a button labeled install additional software required to use this format appears. Clicking the button brings up a search for suitable plugins for an ID3 tag muxer but one cannot be found. This is an excerpt

[Bug 888847] Re: rhythmbox can't find ID3 tag muxer for MP3 support

2011-11-10 Thread Matt Hanyok
Funny enough, just after I reported this, I looked in the software center and saw it mentioning the gstreamer bad plugins set as not installed. Installing it made the problem go away. MP3 support is installed via the ugly plugins set, I thought... shouldn't this ID3 tag muxer be installed with

[Bug 879525] Re: Rhythmbox CD ripping to FLAC broken in Oneiric

2011-11-07 Thread Matt Hanyok
Same problem here. I hadn't even noticed I couldn't edit the settings for ripping to Vorbis or MP3, but this is the first I've tried ripping a CD in Rhythmbox since 11.10 was released. Was that an intentional change? (I do hope they bring Rhythmbox back as the default player. Banshee frequently

[Bug 235945] Re: Rhythmbox gives priority to APEv2 tags and won't display changes to ID3v2 tags

2008-10-25 Thread Matt Hanyok
Hello, I looked over that link and see there hasn't been any activity on it since 2006. I have files experiencing the same problem and I'm using the Intrepid RC, so I'm guessing this hasn't been fixed. I've attached to this post a file (downloaded from oc remix, the music is not copyright

I'm also having this problem. Ubuntu Hardy 64-bit. I've installed Banshee 1.0 from their repository following the instructions here: https://edge.launchpad.net/~banshee-team/+archive I've set banshee-1 as my custom command for preferred multimedia application and Rhythmbox keeps opening

[Bug 164265] Re: Transferring AAC files to iPod is broken

2008-06-19 Thread Matt Hanyok
Henrik (and all), I can confirm that this no longer attempts to transcode AAC files when transfering to an iPod. Tested on my 4th-gen greyscale 20gb, Ubuntu Hardy 64 bit, Rhythmbox package 0.11.5-0ubuntu8. Matt -- Transferring AAC files to iPod is broken https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/164265

2008-06-14 Thread Matt Hanyok
I just tested this. It's... strange. The files work better now than they did before; for example they are now showing the proper run time of a file when played back in totem or VLC. The skipping isn't as bad but sound is very clipped, sounds tinny / vaguely underwater and occasionally runs over

Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox Some MP3s I have downloaded from OC Remix contain APEv2 tags. If I try to change metadata about a file (album name, for example) Rhythmbox will show the change and then revert a few seconds later. The ID3 tag is changed, verified with a few

[Bug 164265] Re: Transferring AAC files to iPod is broken

2008-03-16 Thread Matt Hanyok
I had some time where I was doing a reinstall where I tried an Alpha release just to see if this problem was fixed... I think it was Alpha 4. I still had the problem then, but I haven't tried any of the later versions. I think this can be tested by trying to rip a file to AAC format; as mentioned

[Bug 95326] Re: sound juicer aac formatted files skip and...

2008-01-03 Thread Matt Hanyok
The only workaround I know of is to use an application that doesn't rely on gstreamer for the encoding. The abcde program that some have mentioned uses the plain faac I think, so it isn't affected by this; I haven't tried it myself. Rhythmbox still tries its transcoding weirdness when iPod syncing

I'm also having this problem. Oddly it seemed to transcode my AAC files... to AAC format. The files were previously ripped with iTunes. They play without issue but if I use Rhythmbox to put music on the iPod (a 4th gen greyscale 20gb, firmware 3.1.1) and then try accessing the files on the iPod

I'm also having this issue. Ubuntu Gutsy. I noticed from the old documentation that there was a gstreamer0.8-faac package required in addition to the gstreamer0.8-ffmpeg. I looked through the repositories to see if there were equivalents to these for gstreamer0.10 and saw a gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg
