working.
Description of the error:
When I lock the screen, the display turns black (as intended). However, when I
press a key or move the mouse to turn the display again, no login-dialog is

I am running maverick and this is still an open bug.
Indeed I have no problems when desktop effects are disabled.
(It does not matter to me, if the panel is expanded or not.)
I use the window selector applet and the list gets smaller, just clicking by
two times on the selector.

case the computer gets stolen. An if-up.d script could then phone home

I don't think so, actually I didn't notice that Nautilus crashed.

Well, I just typed a message in a pidgin-conversation and left Nautilus in the
background. That's it.

I made PPA and put version 2.32.1 of gnome-keyring in it: ppa:towolf/g-k-r-2.32
SSH unlocking works.
Apparently the reason for keeping the pre-release 2.31.91 was that the
delay for forgetting passphrase wasn’t carried over from Gconf. (But
it’s converted in 2.32.1 to GSettings AFAICT):

John, over all that verbosity you have overlooked that this is not a Unity
issue. I and others above don’t have Unity installed at all.
It’s probably related to dbusmenu of appmenu-gtk.

updates (I didn't test which one) solved the issue.

For one thing the grip area to resize shouldn’t depend on the thickness
of the window borders. And everything wider than 1px looks ugly for the
transparent terminal window.
