I just booted into the live system of daily-live 20090116.3 (amd64).
Still a problem: Printing one page (the same as I tested above) as .pdf
produces a 2.1 M file. Looking at it in evince shows blurry equations
and text, though after 3-4 min(!) the quality gets better. Does it take

Oh, I was wrong: The text in the preview (takes about 1 min to generate)
appears blurry only at the beginning. When I zoom in, the quality becomes
better after another 2 mins of waiting.
If I print one page into pdf, the generated pdf is 2.4 MB big, the originial
with 270 pages is only 4.5 MB.

Okay, it seems to be fixed in 2.6.27-1 (updated Intrepid Alpha4), I
burned one DVD successfully, simulation was successful, too. I hope I
will find the time these days to test the 2.6.26 kernel as well.

the DVD, while the drive is still running a little bit (light is not on,
though). The command 'eject' does not give an error, simply does
nothing.

Yeah, that's why I reported it initially as a gnome bug, because I thought, it
might be a problem of the gnome-wide proxy settings as both apt and evolution
don't work with the socks-proxy.
What accounts I use? Gmail and a university

gnome-settings. And as Apt is always something special, I think it is

When I start gnome-keyboard-properties and try to add a new country
keyboard layout, I only see the screen where i can select the country
for half a second and then it crashes with:

picture, evince doesn't show that. when i do dvipdfm evince displays the
