This is a core compiz problem in Natty (not even a problem with the
window-decorator) from what I can tell.
I was using a Natty VM and selectively replaced some components from
Maverick's compiz. Here are the results.

I have a CPU that scales from 3.00 GHz to 2.00 GHz. This is the only
power management I use. That is the ondemand governor for my CPU and
it was enabled by default. I made no further changes to any power
management settings in Ubuntu. I get the issue even when pulseaudio is

You're absolutely right. I have confirmed this bug on Hardy amd64. It
keeps playing even after it's out of the trash can! Fortunately I like
this song! ;)

And just to clarify for others this can be easily reproduced:
Simply mouseover a sound file until a tooltip would appear, and it will
begin playing. Then press the delete key. It will continue playing.
Right clicking or using the context menu key, however, immediately
terminates the playing
For developers:
This could either be fixed by not caching the entire file in memory, by
lowering the buffer size, or simply stopping playback when the file
handle is no longer valid. It seems like caching the whole file at once
could be dangerous anyway.
