On my Dell GX110 Small Form Factor machine on 6.10 Dapper Drake, opening
a akregator feed in a tab in the internal browser that causes a notice
about "popup block options" has caused the same problem three times
(including once after the latest kdelib upgrade).

The problem is complete loss of onboard video, including consoles. (The
monitor has vertical bars, and then loses synch.) I can log in blindly
and sudo shutdown -r, though.

This seemed like an akregator issue, or possibly a quirk of the onboard
video. But I've had no other obvious problems with video, and I spotted
a word in syslog that seemed similar to something I saw in the
description of kdelib changes, something about "slaveio."

Here's the segment of syslog that seems relevant:

Aug 25 21:46:32 localhost -- MARK --
Aug 25 22:00:57 localhost gdm[4245]: Error reinitilizing server
Aug 25 22:01:02 localhost gdm[6109]: gdm_slave_xioerror_handler: Fatal X error

Aug 25 22:01:07 localhost gdm[6123]: gdm_slave_xioerror_handler: Fatal X error

Aug 25 22:01:13 localhost gdm[6133]: gdm_slave_xioerror_handler: Fatal X error

XKeepsCrashing scr
ipt
Aug 25 22:01:18 localhost pppd[5045]: Modem hangup

Ideally, I think I'd like to adjust X files or something to be able to
access whatever debug information akregator offers when this happens.
Failing that, and assuming that X in theory might like to be configured
out of the box to account for as many contingencies as possible, this is
being submitted.
