I can confirm this issue whilst upgrading from 21.10 to 22.04.
I was able to (temporarily) fix the problem by disabling the apparmor profile
for evince.
$ apparmor_parser -R /etc/apparmor.d/usr.bin.evince
As such it seams to be a problem with apparmor, the apparmor kernel and
evince logs
