It is still an issue for me in Intrepid 64bit up-to-date. Furthermore,
now once a website with a news feed is reached, the the feed remains in
the list until the current epiphany session is closed.

could you try if that's still an issue using the current versions? that
seems to work correctly on intrepid

OK, I'll try to be more precise:
1 Open epiphany and go to the default page: file:///usr/share/ubuntu-
artwork/home/locales/index-en_GB.html. Clearly the page has no rss
feeds.
2 I would expect, and that was the behavoiur of epiphany in gutsy, the
'New Feeds Subscrition' voice under the 'Tools'
