you don't change the desktop but the icon, that's not really a bug but
really a tiny corner case, you should just refresh the view if you want
to get it update, there is no reason nautilus should automatically do
that every time there is a change just in case a desktop is using an
icon which is
Refreshing the view doesn't work here. The only way for me is to restart
nautilus or wait some time. The reason I am reporting this is because that
didn't happened with previous version but as I said before is no longer a
problem.
What about the no name thing? Is it a bug or a change in the
closing the bug since that works correctly now, the naming issue is an
another one and there is a bug about it already too

Copy a picture to your desktop and name it icon.png
At the command line type:

Icon=$HOME/Desktop/icon.png
