display the desktop using the show desktop applet? do you get the same
issue minimizing the dialogs?

Hi.
This is on hardy. (I was only trying the New Human theme from kwwii's ppa.)
I did not display the desktop but just *click* it where it shows through
between the various open windows. In the screen shots you can see this free and
clickable desktop space appear as a narrow stripe between the
