Thank you for your bug report. What applet are you speaking about? Could
you make a screenshot? Could you run xrandr on a command line and copy
the log to a comment?

Here is the screenshot. I also should note that it does not mean that
higher refresh rates are unaccessible. With Nvidia display settings
applet I can set up to 76 Hz refresh rate. But this applet does not
allow to set anything highr than 53 Hz.

that's not an applet but gnome-display-properties, could you also attach
the requested xrandr log?
